Care for children, secure the future

About Us

Abaana Community Outreach (ACO) Africa aims to serve the most vulnerable groups in society. We work with HIV+ men, women and children, orphans and the elderly. We believe in giving selflessly – time, care and resources.

ACO Africa is based in Kampala, Uganda and currently works within four rural districts – Rakai, Masaka, Mityana and Wakiso. It was founded in 2009 as a community based organisation (CBO) and later renovated into an international non-profit organisation.

We are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing loving support and care to vulnerable individuals, placing emphasis on education, health, psychosocial care, economic empowerment, nutrition and human and environmental rights.

Our mission is to create sustainable socioeconomic changes capable of generating lasting impacts on communities affected by deprivation. Important key target groups of ACO Africa are children and women. The large majority of households supported by ACO Africa are either headed by young orphans, single mothers or elderly widowers.
